Why the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone is not the new Waco.

In 1993 members of the Branch Davidian church in Waco found themselves under siege by the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). After over 50 days and multiple standoffs, the many Branch Davidians, mostly women and children, who were still in the compound were cooked alive after the ATF used tanks to bash through the compound walls and dump tear gas inside. While who shot first and who started the fires remains a mystery, surviving Davidians maintain they were not planning on killing themselves and there is a long history of these “mysteries” following the ATF and the FBI.
In more recent history, a group of Antifa, the anti-fascist organization that uses fascism to get their way, have taken city blocks, walled them off, put armed guards to man the gates and declared themselves free from the Union. While other states now have their own similar protests like Oregon, Chicago and North Carolina, the biggest one is the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) in Seattle, Washington. Naturally, people have been calling it the next Waco. This is completely misplaced. I will give CHAZ some similarities to the Branch Davidians as they were both fringe groups most people are ok with not seeing in public on a regular basis. However, that’s about the extent of the group’s similarities.
The Branch Davidians of Waco were a quasi-Christian group who, to my knowledge, never broke a law besides David Koresh, the leader, having children with other women in the group. Some might argue Karsh coerced or forced himself onto the other women, but in most cases, it was clear that this was mostly consensual throughout the group. Koresh also married his second wife, the sister of his first wife, when she was 14 years-old, but again, in the State of Texas that is legal with her parent’s permission. According to the citizens of Waco, the Davidians were a peaceful people that bought their own place outside the city and were productive members of their community.
The Antifa controlled CHAZ has already broken numerous laws. While the Branch Davidians bought and maintained their own farm, Antifa forcefully took other people’s private property more like an invading dictator. While the Branch Davidians gave back to their community, Antifa has spray painted, firebombed, destroyed, and extorted their communities. While the Branch Davidians were sieged upon for 51 days over unreliable intelligence on guns, Antifa has been praised in the media. While the Branch Davidians wanted to be left alone, Antifa wants the total destruction of the United States.

The completely ironic part is Antifa has time and time again proved they are exactly who they say they hate. Antifa forces censorship and threatens people if they do not bend, an age old ‘tried and true’ fascist technique. While liberals and Antifa say they hate border walls, guns, and photo IDs, the first thing you will see at the CHAZ/U.S. border are Antifa members at their wall with guns asking for your photo ID. Antifa is in no way like the Branch Davidians and in no way anti-fascist, however I fear they will continue to be spoon-fed whatever they want until we the people finally stand up for ourselves and quit expecting the government to treat criminals how they treat the rest of us.
